هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى بحث دور کل من التفهم الوجداني والمعرفي في التنبؤ بالتسامح الزواجي ومکوناته الفرعية لدى عينة من الأزواج وزوجاتهم. وتَکَوَّنَت عينة الدراسة من 100 من الأزواج وزوجاتهم(50 زوج، 50 زوجة)، وتراوحت أعمار الأزواج بين (25-46) سنة ، في حين تراوحت أعمار الزوجات بين (25-43) سنة. وطُبَّق عليهم مقياس التسامح الزواجي، ومقياس التفهم الزواجي، وهما من إعداد الباحثة. وتم تحليل البيانات باستخدام الأساليب الإحصائية المناسبة . وأسفرت نتائج الدراسة عن وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة بين مکوني التفهم والتسامح الزواجي ومکوناته الفرعية لدى الأزواج والزوجات کل على حدة. کما أظهرت النتائج إسهام التفهم المعرفي في التنبؤ بالتسامح الزواجي ومکوناته الفرعية لدى الأزواج في حين أسهم التفهم الوجداني في التنبؤ بالتسامح الزواجي ومکونيه المعرفي والسلوکي لدى الزوجات، کما أسهم التفهم المعرفي في التنبؤ بالمکون الوجداني للتسامح لديهن.
The Present study aimed to investigate contribution of emotional empathy and cognitive in predicting marital forgiveness among married couples. A sample consists of 100 husbands and their wives (50 husbands, 50 wives), the ages of husbands ranged between (25-46) years, while the ages of wives between (25-43) years. The participant completed Marital Forgiveness Scale and Marital Empathy Scale. The statistical analysis revealed a positive relationship between the two components of empathy and marital forgiveness and its components among husbands and wives separately. The result also showed that cognitive empathy predicted with marital forgiveness and its component among husbands while emotional empathy predicted with marital forgiveness and its cognitive and behavioral components among wives and cognitive empathy predicted with emotional component of forgiveness
