The research aimed to determine the reality of the relationship and the
degree of interdependence between the agricultural research centers and the
Agricultural Extension Service in Libya, by identifying the importance of
the activities that achieve the relationship between the two organizations and
the level of implementation of those activities from the respondents' point of
view. It also aimed to identify the obstacles facing that relationship, and the
opinions of the respondents. On the proposals that strengthen the bonds of
interdependence between the research centers and the Agricultural Extension
Authority, the research was conducted on a group of researchers and
agricultural extension workers working in the Agricultural Research Center
and the Agricultural Extension Authority in the Tripoli region, Libya,
through a regular random sample representing 40% of the total number of
each And the questionnaire form was used as a tool for collecting data for
the research, and the data was digitally processed and analyzed statistically,
and the descriptive method was used to present the search results in the
manner of frequencies, percentages, and arithmetic averages, and the most
important results were as follows:
1. The nature of the relationship between the research centers and the
Agricultural Extension Authority was very weak, while a high percentage of
the respondents believed that it was important for there to be a relationship
and interdependence among them.
2. The results showed that the most important obstacles facing the
relationship between them from the point of view of the respondents is the
absence of regulations and laws that regulate the relationship between them,
and the blurring of communication lines among them.
3. The most important proposals that the respondents see to strengthen the
relationship between them is the formulation of legislation and laws that
regulate the work between them through the unified agricultural research
and extension teams, and the formation of permanent central committees to
coordinate the work and the relationship among them.
4. It was also found that the nature of the prevailing contacts between the
research centers and the Agricultural Extension Authority is personal and
informal in most cases.
