Unguentaria are considered one of distinctive ceramic forms of the Hellenistic world, which were introduced in Greece during the 4th century BC and it was widely produced. They were recognized in two different types: Fusiform and Bulbous shape. This distributed category of vases has been proved to exist in ancient Egyptian domestic contexts, which may have been used as a container for different substances like scented oils, perfumes, ointments and cosmetics. Unguentaria were appeared in many cemeteries and tombs in all over Egypt which belonged to Ptolemies or attested their activities, as one of the funeral equipment, burial gifts, or it may have been used during the funeral rites. Fusiform Unguentaria were found in eastern Thebes, were they recovered from domestic archaeological contexts, they also recovered from western of Thebes, mainly from tombs which reused in the Ptolemaic period. Unguentaria were classified in two groups: Unguentaria without handles and Unguentaria with Pseudo handles, the latter will be the subject of the relevant paper.
