يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعرف على استراتيجيات الكتابة المستخدمة لدى طلاب السنة الثانية بجامعة الزاوية في ليبيا. طريقة جمع البيانات هي الاستبيان. تنقسم الاستبيان إلى ثلاثة أجزاء: التخطيط والإعداد (قبل الكتابة)، وعملية الكتابة (عند الكتابة باللغة الإنجليزية)، والمراجعة (عند التحرير والمراجعة). يتم استخدام الأساليب النوعية والكمية لمعرفة استراتيجيات الكتابة لدى الطلاب. استراتيجيات الكتابة التي يستخدمها الطلاب هي الاستراتيجيات المعرفية وما وراء المعرفية والاجتماعية. ويكشف التحليل أن غالبية المشاركين يستخدمون استراتيجيات التخطيط بتكرار مرتفع مما يدل على أن معظمهم يدركون دور مرحلة ما قبل الكتابة في كتابة النصوص، أثناء كتابة الاستراتيجيات، ومراجعة الاستراتيجيات. وهذا يدل على أن الطلاب يستخدمون تقنيات مختلفة للتغلب على المشاكل والتحديات التي يواجهونها أثناء الكتابة.

This research aims at investigating the writing strategies used by second year students at Al-Zawia University in Libya. The method of collecting data is questionnaire. The questionnaire is divided into three parts: planning and preparation (Before writing), the writing process (when writing in English), and revision (when editing and revising). Qualitative and quantitative approaches are used find out the students' writing strategies. The writing strategies used by the students are cognitive, metacognitive, and social strategies. The analysis reveals that the majority of the participants use planning strategies with a high frequency that indicates that most of them are aware of the role of the prewriting stage in writing texts, while writing strategies, and revising strategies. This indicates that the students use different techniques in order to overcome the problems and challenges they face while writing.
