تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى محاولة فهم دور الجامعة في تحقيق التنمية الشاملة المستدامة في المجتمع، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي، كما استعانت بأداة المقابلة لتطبيقها على عينة قوامها (10) من المسؤولين والموظفين والأساتذة الجامعيين، والثانية تضمنت 30 فرد من المستفيدين من الخدمات التي تقدمها الجامعة؛ وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة الميدانية إلى أن الجامعة لها مسؤولية اجتماعية كبيرة في خدمة وتنمية المجتمع، وأنها تقوم بأداء هذه المسؤولية من خلال مختلف الأنشطة والبرامج التي تستهدف فئات مختلفة من المجتمع، مثل التعليم والبحث والتدريب والاستشارات والتطوير والابتكار والتوعية والتطوع والمشاركة، كما أن للجامعة لها دور فعال ومؤثر في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتلبية احتياجات المجتمع في مختلف المجالات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية والبيئية.

The current study aims to try to understand the role of the university in achieving sustainable development in society. The study relied on the descriptive approach and used the interview tool to apply it to a sample of (10) university officials, employees and professors. The second included 30 individuals who benefited from the services provided by the university. The results of the field study indicated that the university has a great social responsibility in serving and developing society, and that it performs this responsibility through various activities and programs that target different groups of society, such as education, research, training, consultation, development, innovation, awareness, volunteering, and participation. The university also has a role Effective and influential in achieving sustainable development and meeting the needs of society in various economic, social, cultural and environmental fields
