This study investigates the urban dynamics of MarsaMatruh by undertaking acomprehensive analysis of data extracted from2012AD topographic records,classified as cadastral,point,and linear symbols and located at varying elevations above sea level.The city's mosques are obviously represented by point symbols.In contrast, the category of dotted symbols is dominated by wells,particularly in the surrounding hinterlands.In contrast, mines are primarily located in arid regions.Within the domain of linear symbols,the city and its surroundings are traversed by a variety of roads,including highways,paved roads,and rammed roads.In addition,telephone lines traverse from the desert's outskirts to the city's interior,while two major water lines emanate from the purification station south of El Alamein and run through the city's eastern sector.Before reaching the city's northern core,high-voltage power lines create a continuous belt in the city's rural hinterland, extending along its eastern and western boundaries.This analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the human activities influencing Marsa Matruh in 2012.
