This paper is an attempt to trace the history of ecofeminism in Western, African and Indian contexts. This literary theory is tackled in brief in the theoretical framework of this paper. A comparative study is conducted between Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver, We Need New Names by Noviolet Bualwayo, Eating Wasps by Anita Nair. This paper is based on two major pillars. The first pillar deals with the parallelism and interconnection between women and nature, and the second pillar deals with the connection between women, nature and the features of their oppression in the aforementioned selected works of art. Nature and women are exposed to subordination, violence and marginalization. In the Indian context, the author elucidates how nature can be perceived as a mirror to the oppression of female protagonists. The paper also explicates how the aforementioned works of art can depict the notions of ecofeminism.
