من الفرق التي اهتمت بقضية الكسب وتعريفها وبيان المراد منها فرقة الماتريدية والتي تمثل أحد جناحي أهل الشنة والجماعة (الأشاعرة والماتريدية) ، وقضية الكسب أخذت طابعاً جدلياً بعض الشيء خاصة عند علماء الكلام والعقيدة.
فكان لكل منهم تفسيراً يقترب أو يبتعد عن تفسير غيره ، ولهذا كانت الماتريدية والتي تمثل أحد جناحي أهل السنة كان لها موقف ودور هام في التصدي لمن حاولوا إشاعة أن الجبر وعدم الاختيار هو الأصل في حياة الإنسان ، وبين من قالوا أنه لا حرية للإنسان مطلقاً.
The Maturidis are one of the groups that have serious concern with the Rewarding Theory, its meaning, and its aim. Each of them has an explanation that may be with or against other scolars' explanations. For this reason, the Maturidis, as one of the main two groups of Ahl as-Sunnah, have an outstanding rule to adresse those who said that humans are forced and choiceless, or humans are absolutely free.
