يسعي هذا البحث لدراسة الأوضاع الزراعية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة في الفترة (1971_2004م).بداية لم تهتم دولة الإمارات بالزراعة قبل قيام الاتحاد الإماراتي، وكانت تقتصر علي زراعة النخيل، ولكن بعد اكتشاف البترول وعائده فكر الشيخ زايد بالاهتمام بالمجال الزراعي، وذلك بهدف زيادة دخل الدولة بدلاً من الاعتماد علي عائد البترول فقط، والرغبة في وجود غذاء يكفي حاجة السكان التي بدأت في التزايد نتيجة اكتشاف البترول وتوفير فرص العمل، كما قام الشيخ زايد بتسهيل الأمور اللازمة لخدمة قطاع الزراعة، حيث تمكن من تحويل الصحراء إلي رقعة خضراء، كما عمل علي جلب خبراء أجانب وعرب، من أجل عمل نهضة زراعية واسعة في دولة الإمارات، حيث استغل إمكانيات الدولة وسخر كل ما فيها من جهود وأموال وأراض لخدمة المجال الزراعي
