عقب حصول الكويت على استقلالها عام 1961م لعبت دوراً مهماً في دعم الأردن على كافة الأصعدة، وبخاصة الجانب الاقتصادي، فقد اسهمت الكويت بشكل فعال في دعم الأردن من خلال المساعدات الاقتصادية التى كانت تقدمها، كما أن المصالح الاقتصادية بين البلدين دفعت العلاقات نحو التطور والازدهار، ومن ثم فإن هذه الدراسة تتناول العلاقات التجارية بين البلدين، والعوامل التي أثرت في حركة التجارة بينهما سلباً وإيجاباً، والاتفاقيات التجارية، والتى كان الهدف منها تسهيل حركة التبادل التجاري، وتعزيز التعاون التقني والتكنولوجي، والمساعدات والقروض التى قدمتها الكويت للأردن، وأثرها في دعم حركة التنمية في الأردن.
