And after that... Ibn al-Mu'tazz is one of the most skilled poets in description. In this poem, he described a hunting trip of his, describing his horse that he rides as being of good quality, and he described the time of his departure for his trip in the early morning when the air is moderate and the breeze is gentle, and he described the beasts as they are still in their dens, and he described (the face of the rich man) and the beauty that befalls him, as the blooming roses of various colors, and he described the gardens and orchards and their captivating views and their fragrant, fresh scents, and he described the old, pure wine and the beauty of its cupbearer, then he described (the falcon) and its beauty and strength and elaborated on its attributes, as it is the hunting tool, all of that in an interesting, elegant, and unique style like Salsabil, mixing it with his similes in which he excelled, and his metaphors and allusions that He employed it for its meaning, and the rest of the elements of the style that he mastered, so its connotations multiplied and its meanings were precise, so I stopped at some of them and at some of them, and perhaps another contemplator will see above what I saw and reveal what I did not reach, so that is a gift and a grant by which people excel, and as he said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him (...
