-Abstract
As part of a study that investigates the effect on creativity in children of the absence of adult influence during the design process, this study presents and adapted version of the Creative Product Sematic Scale (CPSS) that assesses such creativity. The study included a comparison of designs produced by children in school that were under the influence of a teacher and designs produced in an experimental approach that removed adult influences. The adapted CPSS tool was used to measure creativity as well as the level of influence reflected in the children's designs. The results of the experiment showed that both creativity and signs of being uninfluenced increased with absence of adult influence. The adapted CPSS was successfully checked for validity and reliability and was able to distinguish differences between the children's design in terms of signs of influence.
