One of most important rulers and sultans of the Ghaznavid dynasty , and perhaps the most prominent of all , who is credited with spreading Islam in India, Mahmud al - Ghaznavi minted coins in his name in Ghazna , and their protoypes varied , significantly , what distinguished these prototypes was his keenness to strike the titles he was given by the Abbasid Caliph on these coins , I will show some of coines belonging to sultan Mahmoud , which is published for the first time in this research ,which reflects important religious and political aspect .
At the time of his death , his kingdom had been transformed into an extensive military empire , which extended from northwestern Iran proper to the Punjab in the Indian subcontinent , Khwarazm in Transoxiana, and Makran.
