الملخص:
هناك ارتباط تاريخي وحضاري بين مدينتي السُويس والقُلزم منذ نشأتهما في العصور القديمة، وتنامى خلال العصر الإسلامي، وقد أدى التقارب الكبير بينهما إلى الاعتقاد بأنهما مدينة واحدة، أو أن السويس مدينة حديثة حلت محل القلزم، لكن الحقيقة وجود المدينتان معًا، ورغم أن السويس كانت أصغر حجمًا، وأقل أهمية - في بادئ أمرها- بالمقارنة بالقلزم، فكانت هناك روابط سياسية وعلاقات اقتصادية بينهما، وسنقوم من خلال تلك الدراسة بتوضيح ذلك، ومعرفة نشأة المدينتين وسكانهما الأصليين، وكذلك أهميتهما السياسية والحضارية منذ الفتح الإسلامي لمصر حتى نهاية الدولة الفاطمية، وأسباب تدهور مدينة القلزم، لتضمها السويس مع غيرها من المدن القديمة التي كانت قائمة بمنطقة السويس، لتصير من أهم الموانئ المصرية على البحر الأحمر خلال فترة الدراسة

There is a historical and civilized link between the cities of Al-Qluzum and Suez since their inception in ancient times, and it grew during the Islamic era, and the great rapprochement between them led to the belief that they were one city, or that Suez was a modern city that replaced Al-Qluzum, but the truth is that the two cities existed together, and although Suez was smaller in and l- compared to Al- Qluzum, as there were political ties and economic relations between them, and through this study we will clarify that, and know the emergence of the two cities and their original inhabitants, as well as their political and cultural importance since the Islamic conquest of Egypt until the end of the Fatimid state, and the reasons for the deterioration of the city of Qluzum
