Plazas are part of the mosque's identity. They express the history and authenticity of the place and meet the human psychological need by giving the opportunity for social communication in it. Plazas support the practice of various activities in them and have a role in sustainability, as they are a symbol of urban dynamism. There are several elements that affect the formation of the identity of the place: composition, textures, formal and artistic compositions, color combination, flooring, lighting, and furnishing elements, and in harmony with these elements, the identity of the square is formed. The aesthetic design of the mosques begins with its creative and successful artistic and design formation of its plazas, especially plazas of a heritage character. Studying, analyzing these plazas, and applying the visual and aesthetic determinants precisely leads to the creation of a design that raises the efficiency of the entire site and the city in general. Moreover, working on the integrative study in all aspects of engineering and aesthetically (urban planning, design process). Paying attention to the required details and the elements that make distinctive plazas in order to be suitable with the general aesthetic form. Research Importance: The importance of successful plazas is that they are considered a good space for social communication and practicing various social activities. The fact that these plazas are an important natural source for providing fresh air and integrating green spaces in an innovative way that will support the feeling of interaction between nature and the monument. Creating green spaces, even if it is within a few meters, is important and is one of the roles of the multifunctional plazas. Therefore, you need certain standards to create a successful plaza that conforms to the specifications in order for it to succeed in its function.
Research problem: Urban change and expansion, whether horizontal or vertical, make some plazas sites and buildings lose their beauty, distorting the general visual appearance due to the presence of modern buildings, changing the character of the place. Moreover, the negative behaviors of some visitors and the presence of inappropriate commercial activities create inappropriate interference and reduce the value and elegance of those places. Successful management must consist of a group of cadres with special experience and distinguished skills in the fields of design, control, research and development. The management of sustainable plazas can only be achieved through the integration of different specializations and experiences in sufficient numbers with various administrative and technical levels.
