In recent years, the world has witnessed tremendous development in computer science and applications. The digital revolution has greatly influenced product design. Designers used advanced computer programs to create designs for products with new shapes characterized by complexity and inspiration from nature, in what may be called “digital shapes" or “parametric shapes," which is a new design language for products. It is a design language with formal formulations that are completely different from the usual forms for product design. The spread of these digital forms has been aided by the tremendous development in contemporary production techniques and new materials, All of this contributed to the emergence of new design trends with different starting points, philosophies, and references than the previous ones. The slogan “Form follows technology" resurfaced, and the so-called fluid shapes emerged, Hence the problem of research stems from the need to know the references and features of constructing contemporary product forms in light of the digital revolution and the tremendous development in production techniques and materials, and the accompanying development in design thought. The research aims to study the impact of the contemporary digital revolution on product forms, and to achieve the goal of the research. The researcher followed the descriptive analytical method
In the research, three basic axes were studied: the first relates to parametric shapes (parametric design), the second relates to fractal shapes (fractal geometry), and the third relates to Voronoi shapes. The research concluded with a summary of the relevant results.
