Abstract

Objective: The research aims to create designs on mannequins that reflect the characteristics of the art of ancient Egyptian jewelry and achieve the concept of “Zero waste." The second part of the research is to  sample -fashion design specialists-  on their opinion towards the research designs. Methodology: The research relies on the descriptive approach with analysis and application. The research required building and applying a tool whose validity and reliability has been confirmed, which is the specialists' questionnaire. To survey their opinions towards designs inspired from ancient Egyptian jewelry designed and formed on the mannequin with “Zero waste" fabric, to ensure its suitability for the target group of the research, which is the age group between (25-35) years and sizes ranging between (38-42). Results: The research results were divided into two parts: The first is an analysis of the twelve designs according to the six criteria specified in this research, which are the description of the design, the inspiration source which was different pieces of the ancient Egyptian jewelry, lines and shape of the design, the material and color, The role of sustainability in design, the functional aspect. The second part was the statistical results of research sample -fashion design specialists- opinions towards research designs. One of the most important results of the research is the high level obtained by all research designs in general, and this reflects the good responses of the sample of specialists towards the twelve designs. The researchers succeeded in creating modern designs with spirit of ancient Egyptian jewelry, reflecting the features of the inspiration source for each design, and achieving both sustainability and the functional aspect of fashion to fulfill the role for which it was designed
