The Effectiveness of a Training Program for Acquiring Design-on-Mannequin Skills of Female Graduates in the Field of Fashion Design

Abstract

This research aimed at exploring on-mannequin design skills, identifying scientific principles for building a training program in fashion designing field providing, and preparing a training program in on-mannequin design for providing skills of on- mannequin design to female graduates in fashion design field. The study also aimed at assessing the validity degree of fashion design with the training program of on- mannequin design from the professional's point of views, assessing the effectiveness of a training program in providing skills of on- mannequin design included in the program to female graduates in fashion designing field, and assessing the graduates' acceptance degree on the training program.   The study employed both the analytical descriptive approach and the quasi- experimental approach. The study sample consisted of (11) professional professors of fashion design in College of Designs, Qassim University, and (21) female graduates, with Bachelor Degree, at College of Designs, Qassim University. The research instruments involved a training program of on- mannequin design, an arbitration form for the validity of training program's items by professionals of fashion design field,  cognitive achievement test (pre- and post) for testing information relevant to on mannequin design skills included in the training program, a skill test (pre- and post) for assessing the skill performance of the female graduates included in the training program, a rating scale for evaluating the training
