EFFECT OF WET CUPPING oN SERUM LIVER ENZYMES IN OBESE WOMEN WITH NON ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER

Abstract

Background: A significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease is nonalcoholic fatty liver. The metabolic syndrome, which is defined by at least three of the following: hypertension, hyperglycemia, and abdominal obesity, is frequently referred to as having a hepatic manifestation, which is non-alcoholic fatty liver.

Objective: we investigate the effect of wet cupping on obese woman who suffer from fatty liver without alcohol. To ascertain its benefit as a simple, none expensive technique. And to determine how much cupping therapy useful in improving liver enzymes in patient with NAFL

Methods: The Sixty class one obesity women who were diagnosed as having abnormal liver enzymes value participated in the study. They were between the ages of 45 and 55. The patients were split into two equal groups at random: Group A (Study group) and Group B (Control group):This group were include 30 obese women with NAFL. They were participate for 6 months (one session per month) they won't be treated with liver lowering drugs and they are on healthy balanced diet during the study. Group B (control group):This group did not undergo any cupping procedure but they are on healthy balanced diet during the study

Results: Compared between groups post treatment showed that significant lower levels of ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, and BILI of group A in comparison with group B (p < 0.05)

Conclusion: The wet Cupping Therapy resulted in improvement in liver enzymes in obese women with Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver
