يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة تنمية المسئولية المجتمعية للجامعات المصرية ودورها في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، وقد استخدم البحث المنهج الوصفي القائم على التحليل، وذلك لوصف العلاقة بين متغيرات البحث وصفاً دقيقاً، وتحليل ما تم التوصل إليه من معلومات وبيانات، وتوصل البحث إلى أن التعليم والتنمية وجهين لعملة واحدة محورهما الإنسان، ومن هنا ندرك أن هناك علاقة وثيقة بين المسئولية المجتمعية والتنمية المستدامة، ولا تستطيع التنمية أن تحقق أي خطوة إلا إذا توفرت القوى البشرية المؤهلة، ويقاس تقدم المجتمعات ورقيها بمستوى المسئولية المجتمعية فيها فالكثير من متطلبات التنمية المستدامة تجد تطبيقاتها في المسئولية المجتمعية، وبالتالي فإن المسئولية المجتمعية هي أساس التنمية المستدامة، ومن ثم تُعد الجامعات من أكثر المؤسسات تحملاً لمسئولية تحقيق التنمية المستدامة؛ باعتبارها أداة المجتمع الرئيسة في إمداد وتزويد المجتمع بالكفاءات البشرية والفكرية القادرة على تغيير مستقبله وصياغته، بما يتلاءم مع التغيرات والتحديات المعاصرة؛ لقيادة المجتمع نحو تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، وانتهت الدراسة بوضع مجموعة من الآليات لتنفيذ التوصيات الخاصة بالبحث في تنمية الوعي بقيمة المسئولية المجتمعية للجامعات المصرية. This research aims to study the development of Societal responsibility of Egyptian universities and their role in achieving sustainable development. The research used the descriptive approach based on analysis, in order to accurately describe the relationship between the research variables, and analyze the information and data reached. The research concluded that education and development are two sides. People are of one currency, and from here we realize that there is a close relationship between social responsibility and sustainable development, and development cannot achieve any step unless qualified human forces are available, and the progress and advancement of societies is measured by the level of Societal responsibility in them, as many of the requirements of sustainable development find their applications in Societal responsibility Therefore, Societal responsibility is the basis for sustainable development, and therefore universities are among the institutions that bear the most responsibility for achieving sustainable development. As the society's main tool in supplying and equipping society with human and intellectual competencies capable of changing and shaping its future, in line with contemporary changes and challenges; To lead society towards achieving sustainable development, and the study ended with setting up a set of mechanisms to implement the recommendations for research in developing awareness of the value of Societal responsibility in Egyptian universities.
