This study analyzes the impact that the Italian writer Gabriele D'Annunzio had on the Arab readers. Through an analytical study of magazines and important historical and political events, which start from the second half of the nineteenth century up to the contemporary, the aim of this article will be achieved by presenting as clearly and faithfully as a controversial figure as D'Annunzio. Starting from the Italian poet's interest in Arab issues and Italian politics, it will be highlighted how the ambiguous relationship between D'Annunzio and Benito Mussolini could have been interfered with the image that the Arab public has built of the Italian writer. Numerous manifestations, publications and translations of D'Annunzio will also be taken into consideration to trace the contrasted profile that was created around the Italian and European esthete par excellence of the time.
