Abstract: The post-war period brought about many changes across different aspects of life in Germany. These changes were partly staged by the occupying powers with the intention of re-educating the German people. They aimed to integrate the German people into the international society and introduced a corresponding cultural policy for this purpose. The present novel "The Fire of the Pyramid of Cheops" by Hans Dominik was first published in 1925-1926. The editions of the post-war period were censored. The novel is a science fiction story about the discovery of atomic energy and its devastating danger in a hostile world. The present study shows the linguistic intervention in the novel. It is discussed whether this is a purely linguistic-stylistic change or whether it is based on a new cultural policy. The language policy of the post-war period was aimed at revising text passages that were not in harmony with the new democratic values ​​of the occupying powers by means of linguistic-editorial interventions in the novel. The censorship neutralized text passages that polarized the West and reconstructs it to conform to Europe and the West overall. For this purpose, criticism and ridicule against England, America and Russia are weakened and eliminated, and the glorification of the Moorish enemy is reduced. The deletion of passages that reflect German pride and scientific and political superiority serves to denazify and dismantle militarism. The text and the action then lose their liveliness and tension.
