The study aimed to analyze foreign and Arab open massive online course (MOOC) platforms, followed by an interactive e-learning tool, which plays an important role in structured self-learning and promotes the motivation of the learner; to develop his/her skills, because of the diversity of content that suits his/her needs and fits his/her substantive objectives.
The study was based on the analytical descriptive approach of describing and analysing the location of foreign and Arab e-course platforms and evaluating them using a review list of 36 evaluation elements prepared through a review of intellectual production on the subject. It included three main elements: the use interface and accessibility, content management, system statistics and technical support.
The study found a series of findings, notably that these platforms constitute an important element in promoting sustainable development in the education sector. The EDX platform is at the forefront in terms of achieving 91.8% of the total evaluation elements. It is also an awareness platform in the introduction to the Arabic platforms with 81.8% of the total evaluation elements. Most of the platforms have enjoyed distinct community partnerships that contribute to the sustainability of these platforms. Only the Tek skill platform includes sign language courses. There are two Arabic platforms belonging to the King Khalid University Platform of King Khalid University and a knowledge platform belonging to the University of Mansoura.
