A total of 50 fresh Sardine fish (Sardine piichardus) of Red Sea was examined for the prevalence of Contracaecum larvae. The higher incidence of distribution and intensity of infection were in the liver tissues (100% and 8.7 larvae/fish), respectively. The lower values were detected in abdominal mucles (Z Z% and 0.53 larvae/g of fish muscles). Tow species of Contracaecum larvae were recorded and described morphometricaliy. These larvae are considered as a first record from Red Sea Sardine piichardus in Egypt. As a causative agent of human anisakiasis, their importance from public health point of view was discussed. Application of physical control for killing the Contracaecum larvae in fish with thermal procedures as frying for 5 minutes on each side, grilling for 15 minutes at 60-80QC on each side respectively, as well as freezing at-1 8oC for 48 hours proved to be quite sufficient to kill all larvae in the fish.
