Abstract

The main objective of this research was studying the relationship between characteristics of extension centers agents and degree of their use to extension methods &aids. A well prepared and pre-tested questionnaire was used to collect the data needed for this research through interviewing 68 agricultural extension agents who are all agricultural extension agents working in ex‌tension centers in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate. Frequencies, percentages, simple correlation coefficient, multiple regression and Chi- square test were used to analyze the data statistical‌ly. The findings showed that: The relative importance of the extension methods were ranked in descending order as follows: 1. Demonstration meeting, panel meetings, and farm visits. 2. Extension magazines. 3. Extension bulletins. 4. Extension posters, lectures, office visits, telephone calls, rural radio programs, and rural T. V. programs. The results showed that about 32% of extension centers agents had low level use of extension audio aids, 32% of them had medium level use of extension audio aids, about 41% of them had low level use of ex‌tension visual aids, 20.5% of them had medium level use of extension visual aids, and about 56% of them had medium level use of extension audio-visual aids. It was found that there is a positive correlation at 0.01 probabil‌ity significant level between Job satisfaction and using degree of exten‌sion methods as dependent variable Moreover, The study showed that a positive correlation at 0.5 probability level between perception of con‌cept and philosophy of the agricultural extension and using degree of ex-tension methods. The study showed also that a negative correlation at 0.05 probability significant level between work-home distance and using degree of extension methods. The results indicated that all the independent variables of this study explained about 35.9% of the variance in the dependent variable.
