ملخص:
تعد قضية التغيرات المناخية من أخطر التحديات البيئية التي يواجهها العالم خلال تاريخه المعاصر، كما تعد أيضا تحديا أساسيا لعملية التنمية المستدامة، تلك التنمية التي تهتم بتحقيق الجوانب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية للتنمية، دون إغفال البعد البيئي حفاظاً على الموارد الطبيعة لخدمة أهداف التنمية الحاضرة وأيضا المحافظة على الموارد الطبيعة لخدمة أجيال المستقبل، وهي التنمية التي تحرص على العدالة الاجتماعية، والتي تحلم شعوب العالم كلها بتحقيق أهدافها. ويعتبر الاهتمام بالبيئة والتربية البيئية والوعي البيئي من أبرز اهتمامات الخدمة الاجتماعية في الوقت الحالي والتي تركز على إيجاد علاقة إيجابية متوازنة بين الإنسان في مختلف صوره - كفرد - كعضو في جماعة - كعضو في مجتمع - وبين بيئته التي يعيش فيها. وذلك لأن الخدمة الاجتماعية من أكثر المهن ارتباطاً بالبيئة وعناصرها فهي تهتم بالإنسان وبيئته لإيجاد أنسب أشكال التوازن بينهما لذا فهي تمثل أحد مجالات الممارسة لمهنة الخدمة الاجتماعية ويمارسها إخصائيين تم تدريبهم على أساليب العمل مع البيئة وحمايتها، ويرجع ذلك إلى أن البيئة أخذت بعداً اجتماعياً الأمر الذي جعل البيئة مسئولية الجميع للعمل على إيجاد حركة بيئية داعمة وفاعلة في كافة مؤسسات المجتمع لتوعية المواطنين بمشكلات البيئة والتي أصبحت تشكل خطراً على مستقبل الإنسان.

The issue of climate change is considered one of the most serious environmental challenges facing the world during its contemporary history. It is also considered a fundamental challenge to the process of sustainable development, that development that is concerned with achieving the economic and social aspects of development, without neglecting the environmental dimension in order to preserve natural resources to serve the present development goals and also to preserve resources.
