Abstract

The research addresses the importance of developing an integrated ecological assessment model for affordable housing, focusing on the environmental and social challenges arising from the use of traditional construction techniques that are not environmentally compatible in low-income housing projects. The study reviews international environmental assessment systems such as the Code for Sustainable Homes in the UK, LEED standards in the US, and the Green Building System in India, comparing them to derive suitable assessment criteria that can be applied in affordable housing projects. Additionally, the research presents a case study of the "NEXT21" project in Japan, which serves as a practical example of applying environmental assessment in residential projects.

The research emphasizes the need to develop a flexible and adaptable assessment model that can be applied in various environments, considering the environmental, economic, and social conditions of each project. It highlights the significance of achieving sustainability in affordable housing projects through innovation in design and construction, which contributes to improving the quality of life and reducing environmental impacts. The study also recommends enhancing awareness and training on the use of these standards and technologies to more effectively achieve sustainability goals in different contexts.
