Abstract

This research aims to explore the possibility of transforming museums into more sustainable institutions by applying the principles of the circular economy. It highlights the importance of this transformation in light of the increasing environmental challenges facing the world. The research raises a central question about how to integrate the principles of the circular economy into the operations and management of museums, with the aim of reducing negative environmental impact and promoting sustainability. The research is based on the concept of the circular economy, which aims to redesign products and processes to reduce waste and promote the sustainable use of resources.
This concept is linked to the museum sector, where the environmental challenges facing museums are analyzed, such as energy consumption, waste management, and the use of non-renewable materials. The research also reviews current sustainability practices in museums, and compares them with the principles of the circular economy. Green museums are a vital part of the transformation towards a more sustainable future. To achieve the circular economy in the museum sector, this is done through energy and resource management, museum collection management, and awareness and education. There is a relationship between sustainability and the tourist attraction of museums, as sustainability is an essential element in building the attractiveness of museums in the modern era. It is not limited to protecting the environment, but also contributes to enhancing the visitor experience, improving the public image of the museum, and enhancing its position in the community.
