تستهدف الدراسة مدي معرفة دور النقل البحري في تنمية تجارة مصر الخارجية وذلك عن طريق توافر أسطول بحري و تطوير المواني لتسهيل حركة التجارة وسرعه تبادل السلع والمنافع بين الدول والأفراد وتداول البضائع المنقولة حول العالم وبذلك تحصل الدول من خلال امتلاكها لأسطول بحري نقل تجارتها الخارجية وبالتالي توفر عملات أجنبية سوف تتحملها إذا تم نقل البضائع علي سفن أجنبية وكذلك تظهر فوائد النقل البحري في تحقيق ايرادات للدولة بالعملة الأجنبية وقد اعتمدت الدراسة علي المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال جمع وتحليل البيانات المرتبطة بتجارة مصر الخارجية وكذلك معرفة البيانات الخاصة بحركة تداول البضائع المنقولة بحرا لزيادة التجارة الخارجية بالموانئ المصرية وقد توصلت الدراسة إلي أن النقل البحري يعتبر مصدر للقيمة المضافة في الاقتصاد ويعتبر عائد للاستثمار ويحقق الميزة التنافسية عن طريق الكفاءه المحققة من الخدمة المقدمة والتكلفة والوقت  The study aims to know the role of maritime transport in the development of Egypt's foreign trade through the availability of a marine fleet and the development of ports to facilitate the movement of trade and the speed of exchange of goods and benefits between countries and individuals and the circulation of transported goods around the world. Owning a marine fleet that transports its foreign trade, and thus provides foreign currencies that it will bear if the goods are transported on foreign ships, as well as the benefits of maritime transport appear in achieving revenues for the state in foreign currency. The movement of goods transported by sea to increase foreign trade in Egyptian ports. The study concluded that maritime transport is a source of added value in the economy and is considered a return for investment and achieves competitive advantage through the efficiency achieved from the service provided, cost and time.
