منذ أوائل الالفية الثانية، دَعمت التطورات التكنولوجية ظهور نماذج ذات مصادر تنظيمية جديدة مثل التعهيد الجماعي. والذي يوصف بفعل شركة أو مؤسسة تؤدي وظيفة كان يؤديها الموظفون دفعة واحدة وتعهيده إلى شبكة واسعة النطاق غير محددة الأشخاص في شكل مكالمة مفتوحة"⁽¹³⁾. وهذا بدوره يمكّن المؤسسات من الوصول إلى ما هو أبعد من مواردها الحالية لتستفيد من المعرفة والمهارات الجديدة⁽²⁰⁾، التي تكون مدعمة منصات الإنترنت المتنامية والتي بدورها وفرت الأساس التكنولوجي لها، بالإضافة الى الحاجة لقوة عاملة مرنة تتمتع بمهارات فريدة من نوعها، ظهر التعهيد الجماعي من القاعدة الأساسية. وبناءً عليه، فإن عملية الحث عن التعهيد الجماعي ينتقل ببطء من حالة التركيز الوصفي المبكر على التطبيقات والحالات إلى الدراسات التي تبحث في جوانب محددة فيه، مثل تحفيز الجماهير، والمقاييس، ومقاييس الأداء، وتصميم النظام الأساسي. ومع ذلك، هناك قضيتان محددتين تجلت بوضوح نتيجة لهذا النمو على مستوى القاعدة التي قامت عليه. Since the early 2000s, technological developments have supported the emergence of models with new organizational sources such as crowdsourcing. which is described as the act of a company or organization performing a function previously performed by employees all at once and outsourcing it to a wide-ranging, anonymous network in the form of an open call" ⁽¹³⁾. This, in turn, enables organizations to reach beyond their existing resources to benefit from new knowledge and skills⁽²⁰⁾, being fueled by the growing Internet platforms which in turn provided the technological basis for them, in addition to the need for a flexible workforce with unique skills, crowdsourcing emerged from the basic base. Accordingly, crowdsourcing research is slowly moving from an early descriptive focus on applications and cases to studies looking at specific aspects of it, such as crowd motivation, metrics, performance metrics, and platform design. However, two specific issues became apparent as a result of this grassroots growth.
