تسعى العديد من الدول النامية والاقتصادات الصاعدة إلى تكوين تكتلات اقتصادية، بهدف تحسين قدراتها التنافسية وزيادة النمو الاقتصادي في الأسواق الدولية، ومن بين هذه التكتلات، تبرز مجموعة دول البريكس التي تأسست عام 2009م، وتضم البرازيل، وروسيا، والهند، والصين، وجنوب أفريقيا. تتميز دول المجموعة بحجم اقتصادي كبير ونمو سريع، لذا سعت مصر للانضمام للمجموعة، بهدف الاستفادة من فرص التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري والاستثماري، ولا سيما عقب انضمامها رسمياً لعضوية بنك التنمية الجديد، التابع للبريكس ^([1])، وما أعقب ذلك من تقدم مصر بطلب رسمي للانضمام للمجموعة ^([2])، والموافقة خلال قمة البريكس الخامسة عشر المنعقدة بجنوب أفريقيا، في الفترة من 22 إلى 24 أغسطس 2023م، على قبول انضمام مصر ضمن ست دول كأعضاء جدد كاملي العضوية بالمجموعة، لتدخل حيز التنفيذ الفعلي اعتباراً من الأول من يناير 2024م^([3]) مما يساهم في تحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية المستدامة، وزيادة الاستثمارات الأجنبية، ودعم الاقتصاد المصري.   ([1]) الجريدة الرسمية: العدد 13، الصادر في 30 مارس 2023، السنة السادسة والستون، ص3.  ([2])Jai Hamid: Egypt officially applies to be a part of the BRICS, June 14, 2023, https://www.cryptopolitan.com. Many developing countries and emerging economies are seeking to form economic blocs, with the aim of improving their competitive capabilities and increasing economic growth in international markets. Among these blocs, the BRICS group of countries stands out, which was established in 2009 and includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The countries of the group are characterized by their large economic size and rapid growth, so Egypt sought to join the group, with the aim of benefiting from economic, trade and investment cooperation opportunities, especially after officially joining the membership of the New Development Bank, affiliated with BRICS.What followed was Egypt submitting an official request to join the group, and the approval, during the fifteenth BRICS summit held in South Africa, from August 22 to 24, 2023, to accept Egypt's accession among six countries as new full members of the group, to enter into actual implementation as of January 1, 2024. Which contributes to achieving sustainable economic development. Increasing foreign investments and supporting the Egyptian economy.
