EVALUATION OF THE ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF BROILER FARMS IN SHARKIA GOVERNORATE (In Arabic)

Abstract

The research paper aimed at estimating indicators of the efficiency of the economic and productive performance of farms in the broiler subsector in Sharkia Governorate through a stratified random sample of 80 farms from Abu Hammad and Belbeis districts, according to the relative importance of poultry production in Sharkia Governorate for the year 2021/2022. The results of the study showed that the indicators of the efficiency of the economic performance of the broiler farms, indicated positive results such as: the annual net profit amounted to 1677 thousand L. E., while the net profit per session amounted to about 335 thousand pounds, and then the net profit per bird amounted to about 22.37 L. E. While the profit per kilogram of live weight from the fattening house was about 13.85 L. E. The results also indicate that the total margin of the farm amounted to about 1880 thousand L. E., while the total margin for one cycle amounted to about 376 thousand pounds, the total margin per bird amounted to about 25 pounds, while the product margin amounted to about 11.74 L. E., and the product incentive was estimated at about 29.6% in broiler farms. Fattening in the field study sample for the 2021/2022 season. The study recommends the following: 1. Activating the role of the Stock Exchange in monitoring the markets and creating a database for all farms nationwide. 2. Formation of associations for broiler chicken producers to work on opening new markets and facilitating access to production requirements at reasonable prices. 3. The need to control poultry selling prices while providing a database and information for farmers and producers in order to control prices.
