Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of Nanoydroxyapatite on pulpotomized primary molars clinically and radiographically in compare to zinc oxide eugenol and mineral trioxide aggregate

Method: Thirty sex primary molars indicated for pulpotomy aged between 4-8 years were included in the study following specific inclusion criteria and then grouped randomly into three groups then treated with pulpotomy agent using zinc oxide eugenol, Nano-hydroxyapatite crystals and MTA.

Results: Clinical and radiographic findings were observed at one, three and six months. The success rate was found to be 91.77% clinically and 83.33%. radiographically in the Nano-hydroxyapatite group and 100% clinically and 91.77% radiographically in the MTA group. The clinical and radiographic success rates observed in zinc oxide eugenol group was 88%. with no significant difference between them.
Clinical significance: The results of this study revealed that Nano-hydroxyapatite crystals is a potential pulpotomy agent for primary molars.
