Abstract

In Salah Stétié's l'Etre , the liquid occupies an important place not only at the level of lexical but rather semantic . The liquid element acquires various meanings in the poems of the collection.  These meanings, once noted, would allow us to explore the vision that the poet has of the universe and the reality.  By using interpretative  semantics, and especially the notion of isotopy  , we attempt to explore the semantic values of the liquid and its establishment as a symbol in numerous poems.  The interpretation that we carry out depends on interpretative processes such as isotopic assimilation, virtualization and semic actualization: the liquid, through the specific isotopies that it summons, seems to constitute a common background to several poems in the collection.  The study of the isotopic networks which is formed around the liquid would first allow us to distinguish two semantic categories of the utterances  denoting the liquid: those where the liquid is actualized, and that where it is not and to then explore in  context the meanings that each of the two can take.
