Abstract

All treatments had no significant effect on litter microbial populations (total bacterial count, colif Six treatments were designed to study the effects | orm count and fungus plate count). Alum treat of five compounds on litter quality and broiler ment had a negative cffect on broiler  performance as follows: |- litter mixed with com- _aS_ evaluated by average body weight and food material alum at the rate of 0.5 kg/m2.2-litter | conversion and this might be attributed to the tox-mixed with calcium superphosphate at the rate of _ icity of alum. Calcium superphosphate may pro- 0.7 key m2, 3-litter mixed with both alum (0.25 vide a safe and efficient litter amendment.
