Abstract

Foreign trade is one of the most important sources of financing, and therefore export is a tool to motivate countries to work. It represents salvation towards the economic advancement of countries such as Egypt, and it sees the growth of specialized sources, one of the most important of which is what the state cares about in light of the current international circumstances and its encouragement, which distinguishes it from its competitors, the late appearance of agricultural goods and their efficiency. And its competitive ability. Dates are considered an export commodity with a great future for most countries of the world due to their nutritional importance, in addition to the role of the date palm in preserving the environment and resisting desertification, which made the state interested in establishing the largest date farm in the world in the New Valley Governorate with varieties required in foreign markets, which achieves an economic return. Senior (Hanan Bahjat) 2020, and then the research targeted the economic analysis and production and export determinants of dates in Egypt, and the efficiency of the performance of the export process of Egypt's exports of dates, represented by the export strength, was estimated during the period from (2006-2022)It was also shown that there was an apparent comparative advantage for date exports during that period. By studying the market share of Egypt and its most important competing countries in exporting dates in the global market, which are Iraq, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Emirates, it was found that Egypt ranks eleventh in the global market share as an average for the period (2018-2022), and by studying the geographical distribution of Egyptian exports of dates to the most important Countries importing both the quantity and value of Egyptian exports of dates during the period (2018-2022),It was found that the concentration factor is high, which means that the occurrence of any severe price fluctuations in the value and quantity of dates will have negative effects. Therefore, the study recommended the necessity of working to open new markets for Egyptian dates, and paying attention to cultivating high-quality varieties that are accepted in foreign markets.r
