Abstract

The aim of the research is to develop awareness of environmental and bio - safety in handling waste from the production of sera and veterinary vaccines for workers at the Institute of Sera and Veterinary Vaccines Research, by raising awareness of workers at the institute on how to deal with waste production. A training program was conducted to develop awareness of workers within the institute and prepare a scale to measure environmental and bio - safety awareness in dealing with waste from the production of veterinary sera and vaccines. The awareness scale was applied pre and post to a group of 80 workers within the institute, the researchers relied on the experimental approach (one-group experimental design), where the research group's awareness of environmental and bio – safety in dealing with waste from the production of serum and veterinary vaccine was measured, to identify the impact of the training program on the research group. The research found the effectiveness of the proposed model on the research group, as the results were in favor of the post-measurement, as the t-value reached (21.343), which is a significant value at a significant level (0.01), and the average score of the pre-application was (7.05), and the average score of the post-application was (28.50) in favor of Post-application, the size of the effect was large for the environmental awareness scale, with the value of (Eta) reaching (0.834), which is a high value greater than (0.8), and the value of Eta2 reaching (0.696). The research recommends preparing and implementing training programs to develop awareness of dealing with waste from the production of veterinary serums and vaccines. In all veterinary laboratories, institutes and factories, to reduce the spread of diseases and the impact on the environment.
