Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of legislation in activating environmental management to protect workers from environmental damage in cement factories. It became clear that the success of legal protection of workers from environmental damage and achieving safe work goals depends strongly on the application of environmental management systems and non-compliance, as the unified goal was to protect the environment in general and to protect the work environment, especially to preserve the health and rights of workers. The results of the study concluded that cement factories, by holding accountable those responsible for making incorrect decisions, caused environmental damage, and they also provide sufficient information to workers about the necessity of adhering to occupational safety and health rules, and also the low awareness and culture of workers in cement factories regarding environmental legislation and laws, and the authorities must also The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Supervision must be more decisive in holding accountable cement factories that fail to implement environmental and emphasizing the taking of legal action regarding the violation the study recommended that there should be an independent, specialized department within cement factories that reports directly to the Board of Directors in the structure in all work related to occupational safety and health, and also the need to inform workers of the dangers of the work environment to which they are exposed and how to use machines and machines in sound scientific ways. Also, achieving strict penalties and quickly implementing legal procedures against violators, developing laws for environmental protection and worker protection laws, and conducting training programs on modern systems to raise the degree of efficiency and awareness among workers, and also the commitment of environmental management to continuous and periodic review of inspection committee reports, and also raising the degree of awareness and culture. For workers to learn about legislation, laws, and means of protection and prevention during work. Requirements, and emphasize taking legal action against violations.
