RESIDENCE IN UNPLANNED AREAS AND WEAK ENVIRONMENTAL AFFILIATION: A FIELD STUDY IN AL AMAL CITY IN CAIRO GOVERNORATE.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the relationship between residence in unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally, and the weak environmental affiliation among residents residing in AL Amal City, the research relied on the descriptive analytical memento. The researchers used two tools to collect data: a questionnaire on the level of residence in unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally, and a measure of the environmental affiliation of residents residing in unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally. The research was applied to a random sample of one hundred and fifty individuals residing in Al Amal City in Cairo Governorate. The results of the research revealed a decline in the characteristics of the population residing in unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally, as well as a decline in the characteristics of housing, environmental characteristics, and the needs of the population in AL Amal City.  The research results also found that there is a statistically significant relationship between residence in unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally, and weak environmental affiliation among residents residing in AL Amal City .The research recommends developing the unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally, improving the standard of living in AL Amal City , and conducting research and experimental studies of psychological and social approaches to developing environmental belonging to the unplanned areas, both organizationally and legally.
