This research aimed to evaluate the role of journalism in achieving environmental management and governance to ensure that environmental resources are managed effectively and sustainably, and to achieve a balance between environmental needs and economic and social needs.To achieve this goal, the descriptive analytical method was used, and research tools were applied to prepare a content analysis tool and ensure the validity and reliability of the tool. Then data on media materials related to the environment in the sample newspapers (Al-Akhbar - Al-Youm Al-Sabea - Al-Wafd) was transcribed regarding coverage of issues related to the principles of governance. Environment and sustainable development, through a content analysis and analysis form during the time period from November 6, 2022 to January 31, 2023, to explore how it covers environmental issues related to environmental governance and analyze the extent to which this coverage affects achieving and improving the principles of environmental governance.The research concluded many results, the most important of which is the absence of a clear strategy in the press's handling of environmental governance issues and the dominance of the concept of news coverage of current environmental events. The research recommended the need to strengthen the role of the press in achieving environmental governance by providing training and awareness for journalists on environmental issues, and enhancing cooperation between the press, non-governmental organizations, and government agencies concerned with the environment. And develop future plans to enhance the impact of journalism in developing environmental awareness and environmental governance.
