Abstract

The current study aimed to develop awareness of environmental communication skills among workers in research centers affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture through a proposed program for workers in research centers affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture to develop their environmental communication skills And its impact on public awareness of the dangers of desertification on Egyptian food security.
The world is witnessing catastrophic environmental problems that threaten Egyptian food security, such as the problem of desertification, about which awareness must be raised among the public. The experimental approach was used to implement the proposed program, and after verifying the validity and reliability of the initial measurement tool (observation card), the research group of workers in the research centers affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture was tested and applied the tool. The study revealed that the program was effective. The first hypothesis was proven correct, as there is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group pre- and post-test on a note card measuring environmental communication skills among workers in research centers in favor of the post-measurement.Three individuals from the trainees in the proposed program were chosen (the most affected by the program - the least affected by the program - the highest in grades, regardless of the degree of influence) as trainers to apply the second tool (the scale). After ensuring the validity and reliability of the scale, a random sample was selected from the audience and the tool was distributed to Members of the study sample from the public. The study revealed the validity of the second hypothesis, which is that there is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group before and after for the measure of public awareness of the dangers of desertification on Egyptian food security.
