Abstract

The aim of the study was to design a proposed program based on theatrical performances to reduce social isolation and school-related problems among children addicted to electronic games. The study followed an experimental methodology, and the sample consisted of 60 children (boys and girls) divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group consisted of 30 children (15 males, 15 females) from the fifth grade of primary school who were electronic game users at Huda Shaarawi Experimental School, Masaken El-Ma'sara, Cairo Governorate. The theatrical program, the electronic game addiction scale, the social isolation scale, and the school-related problems scale were applied as research tools. The study found that there is a statistically significant difference between the pre-application and post-application mean scores of the social isolation scale in favor of the post-application phase for the students in the experimental group. Additionally, there is a statistically significant difference between the pre-application and post-application mean scores of the school-related problems scale in favor of the post-application phase for the students in the experimental group.
