Abstract

The study aimed to identify social support as perceived by families with special needs and its relationship to some variables such as anxiety, stress and depression. In addition to also identifying the relationship of social support with the social skills of these people, the researcher also Arabized and built the tools of the study and measured its dimensions of stability and honesty. The results showed that the degree of feeling psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and stress among the sample was moderate, and that the perceived social support was high, while negative correlation coefficients with statistical significance appeared between social support and the feeling of psychological stress, anxiety, and depression, while this relationship did not appear with skills. their emotional and social. The study ended with a set of recommendations in the light of its results. Therefore, the study aimed to reveal social support and its relationship to psychosocial adjustment among families with special needs. The results indicated:  - Achieving the validity of the first question for the rural sample, with the existence of a statistically significant correlation at a significant level between the total measure of social support and the dimension of psychological adjustment, one of the dimensions of the measure of psychological and social adjustment. - There is a statistically significant correlation at a lower significant level between the total measure of social support and the dimension of social adjustment, one of the dimensions of the measure of psychosocial adjustment. The second part of the first question regarding the urban sample was also achieved by the existence of the correlation between social support and psychosocial adjustment among families with special needs. For the (urban) sample, there is no correlation between the total measure of social support and the dimensions of the measure of psychosocial adjustment (psychological adjustment - social adjustment) and the total measure of psychological social adjustment., The validity of the third part of the first question was also verified by the existence of a correlation between the total measure of social support And between the dimensions of the psychosocial adjustment scale (psychological adjustment - social adjustment) and the total psychosocial adjustment scale at the level of significance 2- There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the rural and urban sample in the psychosocial adjustment of families with special needs, that the relationship is not statistically significant when Significant level, and this indicates that there is a difference between rural and urban dwellings for families with special needs, and its impact on psychological and social compatibility among families with special needs 3- There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the rural sample and the urban sample for the dimensions of the scale and the total scale is not statistically significant at the level of significance 4- There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample for the total scale at a lower significant level, which is a statistically significant value, in favor of Sohag Governorate, with an arithmetic mean, which is the highest average compared to Cairo Governorate and Minya Governorate. The research recommends:  -1_ Work to provide all services for children with special needs and their families.  2- Educating parents on how to deal with their children and how to provide them with support.
