Abstract

After the rapid development that the world is witnessing in terms of economic, social and electronic development, we observe the effects of this development on the natural environment in all its aspects. Therefore, the world's attention is directed towards finding solutions and alternatives that address or reduce the severity of the effects on the environment. Many cities appeared, such as environmental cities, green cities, sustainable cities and smart sustainable cities and all of which aim to protect the environment and preserve the right of future generations of natural resources.
The research aims to study sustainable smart cities that link the concepts and applications of smart systems used in many developed cities in the world and sustainability at the level of those cities. This is highly relevant in order to reach results and indicators that help decision-makers in designing the new urban development in the Egyptian state to be a smart urban environment that works effectively to create a healthy environment for users and saves energy and non-renewable resources as much as possible.
The planning of some residential neighborhoods in the new administrative capital has been chosen to be the subject of the study compared to previous studies to reach the required results. Some previous studies were used in this field in order to reach the main definitions and concepts of smart cities and sustainable cities and to review the applications of the concepts of intelligence and sustainability in the implementation of the projects of the new administrative capital.
The study was analyzed to reach conclusions and recommendations, which are focusing on the ability of the Egyptian state in the planning and implementation of the new administrative capital and the modifications required to be implemented to be smarter and more sustainable.
