Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the relationship between the methods of coexistence and the quality of life among a sample of residents in the desert environment (Siwa Oasis).
The study stressed the differences between males and females living in the desert environment in methods of coexistence and compare them regarding the quality of life.
The Comparative Correlative Descriptive Approach (CCDA) was adopted in this study due to its relevance to the nature of the research and its objectives. It involves data collection with several variables and determining if there is a correlation or a relationship between them. Then, the said relationship is found and expressed quantitatively.
The study sampled residentswho were chosen intentionally.Tools used in this study contained the scale of methods of coexistence for adults living in the desert environment, the scale of quality of life for adults residents in the desert environment, the Raven colored successive matrices test for children and adults, and an economic, social and cultural level scale.
The results indicated that there is a positive, statistically significant correlation between the scores of the study sample of adults living in the desert environment on the scales of both methods of coexistence and quality of life.
The resulting significant differences between the average scores of males and females of the adults living in the desert environment on the scales of both methods of the coexistence and the quality of life were noticed to be shifted towards males.
