Abstract
Background: The aim of study is to evaluate parental socioeconomic status (SES) influence on child behavior in dental office among a group of preschool children in Minia governorate, Egypt during different treatment procedures
Methods: questionnaire form was filled for 385 preschool children to evaluate the relation between child behavior and socioeconomic level. We used in our study El_gilany questionnaire form for evaluation of socioeconomic level and we also evaluated child behavior after L.A administration and different treatment procedures using frankl behavior rating scale (FBRS).
Results: A strong positive association using Spearman's rho (r) = 0.75 (p<0.001) was found between the overall SES and the FBRS. The odd ratio of overall SES was 15.23 times associated with children's behavior with 95% CI of 8.76; 26.49 (p<0.001). Children's age, frequency of children goes to school, family possession domain, and Health-care domain was significantly associated with children's behavior in the dental office.
