Abstract

The study includes the separation and characterization of various natural products from the Myrrh plant. The oil was extracted, and its fatty acids were separated and characterized using gas chromatography through capillary columns (CGC). Additionally, some flavonoids and alkali compounds were separated and characterized Using HPLC, or high-performance liquid chromatography. The study looked at the compounds' effects on PAI-1 and showed that they had a positive impact on decreasing PAI-1 concentration as well as some other oxidative variables. Furthermore, the study examined the influences of these natural products on some biochemical variables related to aortic atherosclerosis in the blood serum of laboratory mice that were induced by the disease. Indeed, the parameters included Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-Alpha). Interestingly, the study showed that the concentrations of PAI-1, IL-6, LDL, TG, TC, and TNF-α were significantly increased in the infected mice, while compared to healthy ones, there was a notable drop in the HDL concentration. It is worth mentioning that liposome nanoparticles (LNPs) were prepared from natural products obtained from the Myrrh plant. The nanoparticles were analysed using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The impact of nanoparticles on therapeutic outcomes was assessed in mice that had atherosclerosis induced, which clearly showed a positive influence based on tissue sections of the experimental animals.
