One of the highly significant issues in aquatic habitats is the heavy metals contamination, and Manzala Wetland in Egypt is subject to this kind of pollution. Thus, this paper aimed to analyze the geographical distribution of heavy metals pollution in this wetland. To accomplish this target, randomly selected geo-referenced water and hydro-soil samples were collected from the wetland under study. The heavy metals analyzed were Fe, Pb, Cu, Cd, Cr, Zn, and Co. According to the results, the northeastern and southern portions of the wetland's drains have the highest quantities of these heavy metals. This may be caused by urban, industrial, and agricultural wastes flowing down the drains, particularly the industrial waste from Port Said drains and the drains of Bahr El-Baqar. According to the geo-accumulation index, Manzala Wetland is more heavily contaminated with Cd and Pb, as evidenced in the hydro-soil samples. Except for cadmium, all other metals in water are below the permissible levels. Consequently, geo-statistics offer efficient ways to measure contaminated streams and sediments to inform decisions about potential redevelopment projects or elimination strategies.
