Abstract

The present study recorded ten polychaetes species along the Alexandria coast which are considered new to the Egyptian Mediterranean coast. Among them, Caulleriella cristata, Armandia casuarina, Prionospio lighti, and Spio blakei have never been found in the whole Mediterranean, while Dorvillea similis, Ophryotrocha cf. adherens, Podarkeopsis capensis, Lumbrineris perkinsi, Hydroides operculata and Serpula hartmanae were recorded in other regions of the Mediterranean but not in the Egyptian region. In addition, this study provided some remarks on the species under study and its distribution in the study area in addition to its world distribution.
