Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the degree to which the surveyed farmers benefited from the extension services and activities by non-governmental organizations represented of community development associations working in the agricultural field; to identify the differences between average farmer scores regarding the degree of utilization of extension services and activities according to the different community development associations to which they belonged; to identify the relationship between independent variables and the degree to which farmers benefited from the extension activities of community development associations; and to identify the most independent variables contributing to the interpretation of differences in farmers' utilization of the extension activities of community development associations.
To achieve the research objectives, a regular random sample of 380 respondents was selected from the total number of farmers registered in the agricultural assembly of 3949 farms at the level of villages. Research data was collected using a personal interview questionnaire, and appropriate statistical methods were used to obtain the following research results.
The results showed that 43.2% of farmers benefit from the extension services and activities of community development associations to a moderate degree, and 27.1% of farmers benefit from these services to a high degree, compared to 29.7% of farmers benefit to a low degree. The five independent variables studied explain about 29.4% of the total variance in the degree of farmers' benefit from the extension services and activities provided by community development associations. There are two independent variables (the age of the farmer - cultural openness) that contribute uniquely to explaining the total variation in the degree of benefit of the surveyed farmers from the extension services and activities by community development associations.
